10 major business lessons I’ve learned in 10 years working as a mentor

Today I am sharing the 10 major business lessons I have learned with you...

1. Marketing is 50% of the job. Focus on creating value for your dream clients for the most powerful impact.

2. Always always always have a contract or mentoring agreement in place. It'll save you when you least expect it. You'll learn exactly how and receive a mentoring agreement template in Module 4 of The Mentor Training.

3. Learn how to see beyond your clients’ presenting problems. You can nail what they really need so much faster. I teach about presenting problems in Module 2 of The Mentor Training.

Remember, the presenting problem is often not the first thing you hear from the client. It is important to ask the right questions and make sure you identify why they have come to work with you correctly. It is also important to note that the presenting problem might not be the 'true' or underlying problem.

4. Save your cash. You will have plentiful and sparse seasons. This way you’re always prepared.

5. Being yourself is hard when you’ve not done the work. You have to embody your message. The first two modules of The Mentor Training are not just about working directly with your clients but how you apply this method to yourself and take full responsibility for what you bring to the world and your clients.

6. Your energy attracts your clients. You will always attract clients a few steps behind you who resonate with your unique vibe. (See above.)

7. Growing a business takes time. Be patient and consistent.

8. The old business tricks, hacks, and gimmicks don’t work anymore. Integrity rules now.

9. Decide what makes you different and focus on it. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel. You have to differentiate.

10. Keep coming back to your ‘why’. It’ll keep you honest and aligned.
